Looting breaks out in Camden last night. What next? Hampstead? Best warn Glenda Jackson to get out into the community to calm the situation.

Still no clear news of how Mr Duggan came to be shot. But then the looting throughout London seems to be the dispossesed getting some free goods and a bit of horseplay.

I wonder what foreign news channels are saying about Britain- London, Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds- all going up in flames. The Arab Spring has arrived- no! That was political. Meanwhile the Euro totters, the dollar is now AA rated and China grapples with inflation. Sudan......

Dobson's choice

Sadly I read in today's Standard p34 that our great Labour MP Frank Dobson is still sitting on a council flat whilst he and his wife are estimated to be earning around £100,000 pa. So much for redistribution.

Perhaps he's new labour after all. But then they would buy the flat at some enormous discount and get the interior decorators in.

One day I'll earn £100,000 pa, with the way inflation is going it won't be long! But will there be any empty council houses for my family?
